[F-18] FDDNP formally known as, 2-(1-{6-[(2-[fluorine-18]fluoroethyl)(methyl)amino]-2-naphthyl}-ethylidene)malononitrile is the first positron emission tomography (PET) molecular imaging radiotracer to visualize neurofibrillary tangles within the brain. It has been employed in the research setting to visualize and quantify in-vivo Alzheimer disease (AD) pathology, tauopathies, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
