Focal ground glass opacification

Focal ground glass opacification refers to relatively contained area of ground glass although these can be multiple and can involve more than one contiguous part of the lungs.
These can include:
- distinct nodules - ground glass density nodules
- amorphous non nodular ground glass regions
They can represent a variety of pathology ranging from being inflammatory, to hemorrhagic to pre-neoplastic to neoplastic.
