Granular mucosal pattern of the oesophagus represents very fine nodularity of the oesophageal mucosal surface. This finding is non-specific and may represent:
- reflux oesophagitis (most common)
- Candida oesophagitis
- glycogenic acanthosis
- Barrett oesophagus
- superficial spreading oesophageal carcinoma
- radiation changes to the oesophagus
