The Heiner syndrome is a rare form of primary pulmonary haemosiderosis associated with an allergy to cow's milk. The syndrome includes:
- rectal blood loss with hypochromic microcytic anaemia
- pulmonary infiltrates (often recurrent)
- hypoproteinaemia
