Hiatus semilunaris

Last revised by Jeremy Jones on 26 Sep 2021

The hiatus semilunaris is a semicircular shaped opening located on the lateral wall of the nasal cavity. It is a component of the ostiomeatal complex and serves as the opening for the frontal and maxillary sinuses and the anterior ethmoid air cells. It is inferior to the ethmoid bulla and the uncinate process forms its anterior border.
