Hip joint ganglion cyst

Ganglion of the hip is rare, or at least is rarely recognized. Embedded in muscles and covered by the femoral vessels and nerve, its hidden location accounts for the diagnostic difficulties which can cause varied clinical presentations. Ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) help to rule out more frequent disorders of this region, but in some cases it is still detected only by surgery.
