Hole within a hole sign

The hole within a hole sign or bevelled edge sign is described in patients with eosinophilic granulomas. The bevelled edge of the defects indicates asymmetrical destruction of the two tables of the skull, resulting in two lytic lesions of unequal size overlying each other 1,2.
