Images (multiple choice questions)

Images are an optional part of multiple multiple choice questions (MCQ) but necessary to the image interpretation type questions.

Using images from existing cases

Adding an existing image which is part of a case to a MCQ is easy.

First, find the image you want to use by browsing Radiopaedia and pin it.

Once the image is pinned, click the "Add an image" button in the MCQ edit screen, click into the "My pinned images" tab and select the image.

Creating bespoke images

Often a bespoke image works best for a question, rather than simply adding one from an existing case. It is essential, however, that images are formatted in a consistent style.

Please download PowerPoint (Windows and macOS) and Keynote (macOS) from the following links to help you:

When you have created your image, export it as a JPG and upload it to the multiple-choice question.

If you want to use the image for multiple similar questions, then you can create the first question, save it, and then duplicate it using the "duplicate question" option in the top-right cog menu.
