Radiographic features

Ultrasound

They usually present as a well defined hypoechogenic splenic mass 1

CT

Well defined hypodense splenic mass that, on postcontrast images, shows delayed heterogeneous enhancement. A central hypodense scar is recognised as a feature. Calcifications may be present 1

MRI
  • T1: low- to iso-intensity
  • T2: bright signal within the central scar
  • T1 C+ (Gd): delayed postcontrast enhancement
