International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine

The International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) is an international multidisciplinary society of radiologists, radiographers and scientists with an interest in the applications and advancement of MRI as used in clinical medicine and biology. The society holds scientific meetings and publishes two journals.

History

The Society of Magnetic Resonance was formed on 1 January 1994, from a merger of the Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and the Society of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Later the Society of Magnetic Resonance was renamed the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine 1.

The first annual meeting of the new Society was held in March 1994 in Dallas, Texas, USA 1.
