Interosseous recurrent artery

Last revised by Craig Hacking on 4 Sep 2017

The interosseous recurrent artery is a branch of the posterior interosseous artery just after its origin, within the proximal aspect of the posterior compartment of the forearm. It courses proximally between the lateral epicondyle of the humerus and olecranon of the ulna to anastomose with the middle collateral artery (from the deep brachial artery). It passes between supinator and anconeus but may pierce the former. It contributes to the arterial anastomosis of the elbow.
