Intramuscular ganglion cyst

Intramuscular ganglion cysts are a location-specific subtype of ganglion cysts. They can occur at any location but have been reported in the shoulder, elbow and hand. 

Differential diagnosis

At certain sites (shoulder) consider intramuscular cysts associated with rotator cuff tears.
