The laryngeal saccule is a mucosa-lined pouch that arises from the anterior aspect of the roof of the laryngeal ventricle. It is most prominent in newborns but involutes during childhood.

Related pathology
Dilatation of the laryngeal saccule is known as a laryngocele.
