Medical device article structure

Last revised by Calum Worsley on 9 Feb 2024

Medical device articles are useful only if the device is visible on imaging and identifying it is of some importance. Brand names should be avoided unless identifying a specific device is important rather than focusing the discussion on the general features of the device.

Example: programmable CSF shunt valves

=======================================================================

The articles will vary depending on the device, but generally should discuss the type of device in general terms applicable to all brands, and not single out specific manufacturers. Read more about this in brand names

There should be no inline links to the manufacturer's website, and links from the reference section should only be added if the information they link to is of use to readers or if it is required to support a statement in the article text.

For use of brand names in cases please refer to the article on brand names which includes the use of personal disclosure.
