Metastases to the thymus
Metastases to the thymus are rare, although they are probably under reported due to lack of symptoms.
Pathology
Varied primary tumours have been reported to metastasise to the thymus 1,2:
- breast cancer
- lung cancer
- ovarian cancer
- colorectal carcinoma
- gastric cancer
- prostate cancer
- testicular cancer
- thyroid cancer
Differential diagnosis
- mediastinal lymphadenopathy
- other anterior mediastinal masses
