Minor salivary gland tumors are a subtype of salivary gland tumors originating from the minor salivary glands, which are found in the lips, tongue, hard palate, and the mucosa of the oropharynx and larynx, among other locations.
Epidemiology
MSGTs account for ~15% of all salivary gland tumors.
Pathology
The most common site of minor salivary gland tumors of the head and neck is the oral cavity. The most common malignant histologies are adenoid cystic carcinoma and mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
