Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms

Myelodysplastic syndrome / myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS/MPN) overlap syndromes refer to a group of chronic clonal myeloid malignancies in which there are features of both myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative neoplasm at the time of presentation.

Entities that can fall into this group include 3:

  • chronic myelomonocytic leukemia

  • myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm with neutrophilia

  • myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm with SF3B1 mutation and thrombocytosis

  • myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm, NOS
