Node of Rouviere

The node of Rouviere is the most superior of the lateral group of the retropharyngeal lymph nodes. It is found at the base of the skull.

History and etymology

Henri Rouvière (1876–1952) was an anatomy professor from Le Bleymard in France.  His seminal work, "Anatomy of the Human Lymphatic System', documented the lymph nodes of the human body and their associated drainage regions.
