Online resources

Last revised by Henry Knipe on 14 Feb 2024

Online resources can be used as references as the source of images/diagrams with certain provisos.

Images are a great way of supplementing articles and cases and, in some instances, these can be obtained from other sites and uploaded to Radiopaedia.org provided they are copyright-free or in the public domain or with content licensed under Creative Commons CC-NC-BY-SA. Creative Commons is a public copyright license that allows authors to release copyrighted material for distribution as long as certain conditions are met.

In all cases the exact provenance and license of these images must be included, to ensure appropriate backtracking to the original file.

A template that can be used is as follows:

Author: List the author/s.

Original file/s: List the URL or other source.

Modifications: List any modifications, e.g. cropping, additions, etc.

License: e.g. "This file is licensed under Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)" or other as appropriate.

If you believe your copyright has been infringed, please write to [email protected] giving details of why you believe this is so.

Generally online resources are frowned upon as references for articles or cases, with journal articles or textbooks preferred. Please refer to the article on references for more details.

If any of these links are broken or for other problems and questions, please contact [email protected].
