Open book fracture of the pelvis is a pelvic fracture that results from an anteroposterior compression injury to the pelvis.

This causes disruption of pubic symphysis and the pelvis opens like a book. The pubic rami may be fractured in vertically orientation instead of the disruption of the ~~symphisis~~symphysis pubis. This type of fracture may be accompanied by ~~sacroilial~~sacroiliac joint disruption.
