Ovarian ligament

The ligament of the ovaryutero-ovarian ligament or ovarian ligament, is one of the supporting ligaments of the ovary and uterus within the female pelvis. It should not to be confused with the suspensory ligament of the ovary, which is a separate structure that extends laterally from the ovary.

Together with the round ligament of the ovary, it is one of the remnants of the gubernaculum in females.

Gross Anatomy

A fibromuscular band passing between the layers of the broad ligament

It attaches from the uterine pole of the ovary and inserts onto the lateral aspect of the uterus near the cornu, just inferior to the origin of the uterine tube.
