Patellar tumors

Patellar tumors are extremely rare. They can be either benign or malignant primary bone tumors, or metastases

Patellar tumors represent just 0.1% of all primary bone tumors 1

Patients may present with anterior knee pain and/or a palpable mass 1,3.

Most (~80%) patellar tumors are benign. A non-extensive list of causes is 1-3

Bone tumours

The differential diagnosis for bone tumors is dependent on the age of the patient, with a very different set of differentials for the pediatric patient.
