Synonyms:

The phrenic plexus (plural: plexuses) is an autonomic nerve plexus and ganglia in the upper abdomen. It is a lateral epiarterial extension of the celiac plexus.

location: the bilateral ganglia and plexuses lie along the inferior phrenic arteries
origin: preganglionic sympathetic fibers via the greater and lesser splanchnic nerves
branches and supply: gives origin to a complex network of small branches which follow the inferior phrenic artery
- supplies the diaphragm and adrenal glands
relations:
- posterior: diaphragmatic crura
- lateral: adrenal glands
