The anterior pituitary receives its blood supply...

directly from above by superior hypophyseal artery branches that arise from the internal carotid arteries

from below, from small vessels that also supply the mucosa of the sphenoid sinus and posterior ethmoidal air cells

laterally through the medial wall of the cavernous sinus via small branches from the internal carotid arteries

posteriorly from small branches from the terminal basilar artery, that also supply the posterior pituitary

via a portal circulation which descends along the infundibulum draining the hypothalamus
