Pituitary region masses (most common)

The five most common masses in the pituitary region are:

  1. pituitary macroadenoma
  2. meningioma
  3. aneurysm
  4. craniopharyngioma
  5. suprasellar pilocytic astrocytoma

Craniopharyngioma and suprasellar pilocytic astrocytoma are common in children, and pituitary macroadenomameningiomaaneurysm are mostly seen in adults and are exceedingly rare in children.
