POPUMET

Last revised by Daniel J Bell on 25 Mar 2018

The Ionizing Radiation (Protection of Persons Undergoing Medical Examination or Treatment) Regulations 1988 were popularly known as the POPUMET regulations. They were the former legal regulations in the UK covering the protection of patients undergoing the use of ionizing radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. They were repealed in 2000 and replaced by IR(ME)R, which remains the regulatory framework in the UK.
