Posterior parolfactory sulcus

Last revised by Craig Hacking on 18 May 2018

The posterior parolfactory sulcus is a vertically oriented sulcus located in the septal area on the medial surface of the frontal lobe. It lies inferior to the rostrum of the corpus callosum and anterior to the third ventricle. The posterior parolfactory sulcus separates the subcallosal area (parolfactory gyrus) anteriorly and the paraterminal gyrus posteriorly 1-2.
