Pylephlebitis, also known as ascending septic thrombophlebitis, is a thrombotic oclusion of portal vein (or its branches) secondary to infection in regions that drain to this venous system.

  • hepatobiliary diseases: cirrhosis, hepatocelular carcinoma, pancreatitis
