RAD-AID (also known as RAD-AID International) is a US-based international non-profit organization established in 2008 to advance the provision of imaging services for medically-underserved populations in the developing world.

Current activities
As the end of 2018, RAD-AID comprises over 10,000 volunteers from 100 nations. Its volunteers encompass radiologists, radiographers, radiation therapists, nurses, medical physicists, and other allied healthcare workers. It has 72 chapters in many universities around the world and on the ground programs in more than 27 countries, serving 40 million people.
It organizes an annual conference, hosted by the World Health Organizatiοn (WHO), in Washington DC, USA.
Radiology Readiness tool
A crucial component of RAD-AID's overall plan is its Radiology-Readiness tool, which was developed in-house, and released for use in 2009, and officially recognized by the World Health Organizatiοn in 2011.
The tool enables comprehensive collation of data for evaluating how modern radiology solutions might be introduced to most optimally aid the needs of local people.
Programs
RAD-AID programs form a major component of their international work, by instituting multidisciplinary solutions that employ radiology to help address global healthcare concerns. The programs globally cover many areas, for example oncology imaging and therapies, aiding rebuilding after natural disasters, training in medical education skills, charitable acquisition of IT healthcare systems, etc.

RAD-AID has published a Radiology in Global Health textbook, now in its second edition. It also has an International Imaging Informatics Initiative.
History
The organization was founded in 2008 by Daniel J Mollura, during his Fellowship at John Hopkins. He has been a staff radiologist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 2009. He completed his MD, and then his radiology residency at Johns Hopkins 2.
