Radiographics update initiative

Dr Dan J Bell and A.Prof Frank Gaillard et al.

As of 2015 we are routinely taking selected articles from each issue of the amazingly excellent review publication RadioGraphics (RSNA publication) and ensuring our content is up to date.

These articles are given to relevant section editors and their task is then as follows:

  • read the article
  • define topics covered by article, and work out how they would translate into radiopaedia articles
  • check that these articles exist
    • if they exist, review them, improve improve them and add the radiographics article as a reference
    • if they don't exist, write them adding a minimum of two other substantial references; this is crucial as we certainly do not intend this to be merely a paraphrasing of the Radiographics article
  • check links between related articles (including ones not directly affected by the article)
  • ask yourself, "Do we need a snippet for this topic?" (often these articles are a great overview of a topic)
  • tag each reviewed/updated article with:
    • RG_Vol_no_new(or)edit
    • RG_35_1_new if it is a new article resulting from this process,
    • RG_35_1_edit if the article was merely edited as a result
  • sit back and enjoy the feeling of satisfaction that comes from a job well done
