Sex cord / stromal ovarian tumours

Sex cord / stromal ovarian tumours are a subtype of ovarian tumours and account for 8-10% of all ovarian tumours. They arise from two groups of cells in the ovary:

  • stromal cells
  • primitive sex cords: coelomic epithelium
