Short bones

Dr Jeremy Jones et al.

Short bones are 1 of the 5 types of bones in the body and represent bones that are shorter than they are wide. The carpal and tarsal bones are all short bones.

Sesamoid bones (bones that form within tendons) are not "short bones" but have a category all to themselves.
