The supraclavicular triangle is one of the paired triangles in the posterior triangle of the neck. The triangles of the neck are surgically focussed, first described from early dissection-based anatomical studies which predated cross-sectional anatomical description based on imaging (see deep spaces of the neck).
Boundaries
- anterior: posterior border of sternocleidomastoid
- posterior: anterior border of trapezius
- superiorly: inferior belly of omohyoid
- floor: first rib, scalenus medius and first slip of serratus anterior
- roof: skin, superficial fascia, platysma and investing layer of deep cervical fascia
