Supraduodenal artery

Last revised by Craig Hacking on 8 Nov 2019

The supraduodenal artery (SDA) is a branch of the gastroduodenal artery (GDA). It arises soon after the origin of the GDA posterior to the first part of the duodenum and supplies the anterosuperior part of the first and second parts of the duodenum, contributing to the rich arterial anastomotic supply of the duodenum. It is a highly variable artery but present in the majority cases.
