The thenar eminence is the muscular bulge on the radial side of the palm due to the thenar muscles. They are innervated by median nerve, except FPBAPB which also provided by ulnar nerve. Together the muscle group primarily acts to oppose the thumb. The four muscles are:

​The adductor pollicis is not part of thenar muscles and also innervated by ulnar nerve rather than median nerve.
