Thoracic myelolipoma

Thoracic myelolipomas are extremely rare entities with only ~3% of myelolipomas thought to occur in the thorax. When they do occur in the thorax, they can manifest as

As with myelolipomas in general, they are considered a benign tumour composed of mature adipose tissue and normal haematopoietic cells 2.

Features can be variable, depending on location. CT may be able to identify fat components within the lesion. They generally tend to be small lesions (<5 cm 1). Pulmonary myelolipomas mostly appear as small nodules.
