Transtentorial herniation is a type of cerebral herniation. There are two types 2:
- descending transtentorial herniation (more common)
central herniation- lateral herniation, which may be divided into two types that can occur separately or together 2-4:
- anterior: uncal herniation (more common)
- posterior
- central herniation
