Trapeziectomy

Trapeziectomy refers to the surgical removal of the trapezium. It may be performed in conjunction with a ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition. It is typically performed as a treatment for severe inflammatory and/or osteoarthritis of the 1st carpometacarpal joint.
