Traumatic aortic injury

Traumatic aortic injury (TAI) is most often caused by blunt trauma (referred to as BTAI) and is best described in terms of injury location, type and severity:

• abdominal aortic injury
• aortic pseudoaneurysm
• thoracic aortic injury
• minimal aortic injury
