Tucked CC views

Last revised by Craig Hacking on 7 Oct 2015

In the standard CC views posterior tissue may be excluded from the field of view, due to the anatomical attachment to the chest wall restricting mobility of breast tissues. The tucks CC views are useful to depict lesions deep in the posterior portion of the breast, located between 10 and 2 o'clock in the upper quadrants and between 5 and 7 o'clock in the lower ones.

They can be performed in two ways: upward and downward tuck.

In the upward tuck CC view, the inferior quadrants are pulled forward and the breast is rolled upward and tucked posteriorly, disregarding the upper breast tissue, allowing for visualization of the more posterior portion of the inferior breast tissues.

In the downward tuck CC view, are the upper quadrants to be pulled forward , rolling and tucking downward and tucking posteriorly the breast and the nipple, disregarding the lower breast tissue, allowing for visualization of the more posterior portion of the upper breast tissues.
