Last revised by Yuranga Weerakkody on 27 Nov 2019

A well-differentiated fetal adenocarcinoma (WDFA) of lung is a rare low grade lung tumour. Some consider this as a variant of adenocarcinoma with others considering this under the group of pulmonary blastomas 5

According to classification by the World Health Organisation in 1999, it was removed from the pulmonary blastoma category and classified as a variant of adenocarcinoma 7.

It tends to present in younger patients (often young adults 3,4).

Pathology

Microscopically composed of neoplastic glands and tubules that resemble fetal lung.
