Presentation

Painless soft tissue bulge on right side periauricular for three months.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

An ill-defined solid-necrotic mass lesion with heterogenous enhancement and size with axial width up to 30 x 22 mm and height up to 28 mm in right side parotid gland superficial lobe minimally extended within adjacent subdermal fat and also extended within deep lobe are seen. No gross or obvious cervical lymph node metastasis is seen.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the non-contrast and contrast-enhanced MDCT features of a pathology-proved mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the parotid. The main treatment is complete surgical resection and radiotherapy, especially in advanced tumors 1.
