Medial meniscus cyst

Presentation

Swelling along medial aspect of knee - few months. Complaining of pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Femoro-tibial compartment space is maintained. There is no fracture / dislocation / bone lesion. There is well-defined soft tissue swelling on medial aspect of knee, abutting joint line, femoral - tibial condyles.

ultrasound

There is a well-defined, anechoic cyst (about 67 mm in length)  along the long axis of medial aspect of  knee. It abuts joint line and femur - tibia condyles.

Case Discussion

Female patient presented with swelling and pain along medial aspect of knee. Radiograph shows local soft tissue swelling which was a cyst on ultrasound examination.

Arthroscopy confirmed a medial meniscal cyst.
