CT - Brain
What complication is evident?
The ventricles are beginning to dilate in keeping with obstructive hydrocephalus.
What are the main components of the ventricular system? Identify them.
Lateral ventricles, third ventricle, aqueduct of Sylvius and forth ventricle. (see following annotated images).
Non-contrast CT demonstrates a large pontine haemorrhage with extension of blood into the fourth ventricle and up into the third ventricle. The temporal horns are a little prominent as are the lateral ventricles suggesting developing hydrocephalus.
