These images are part of an MRCP examination. One of the most striking findings is the typical "pearl necklace sign" of the gallbladder. A mild fluid effusion is seen around the pancreas, typical for acute pancreatitis.
Case Discussion
Acute pancreatitis with incidental findings of adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder.
The pearl necklace sign alludes to the characteristically curvilinear arrangement of multiple rounded hyperintense intraluminal cavities visualized at T2-weighted MR imaging and MR cholangiopancreatography of adenomyomatosis.
