During swallowing an out-pouching of the posterior hypopharyngeal wall is clearly visualized at the level C5-C6, right above the upper esophageal sphincter. This is compatible with a Zenker's diverticulum.
The pouch is characterized by a narrow neck entrapping some barium after the swallowing.
Case Discussion
This is a classical esophageal swallow imaging of Zenker's diverticulum.
