What is the most common thoracic manifestation of SLE?
Pleural disease. Pleuritic chest pain, fever, cough, and dyspnea are typical. Pleural effusion, unilateral or bilateral, and usually small, occurs in 30% to 50% of patients with SLE. Pericardial effusion and cardiomegaly occur in 35% of patients with SLE.
Bilaterally symmetrical fine reticular opacities with relative subpleural sparing, microcystic abnormalities and mild ground glass opacities with lower lobe predominance.
