MRI incidentally detected an accessory belly of the lateral head of gastrocnemius muscle. The popliteal neurovascular bundle is encased by the medial head of gastrocnemius and the accessory muscle.
Case Discussion
Features consistent with accessory lateral gastrocnemius muscle. This anatomical variant may cause popliteal entrapment syndrome.
