Static long TE MRU showed left hydroureteronephrosis with signal void of the prevesical region. The collecting system of the right kidney was not dilated (Fig. 1). Transverse and sagittal MRI depicted a hypointense lesion in the left prevesical ureter that obstructed the lumen and invaded the periureteral tissues. There was also a deformity of the bladder and a large unrinary diverticulum dorsal to its right posterior wall (Figs. 2&3). After iv contrast, the ureteral lesion enhanced avidly (Fig.5).
Excretory MRU 10 min after contrast injection showed a silent kidney on the left.
