MVA in the intensive care unit (ICU) for head injury.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Right lower lobe triangular opacity, obscuring right hemidiaphragm. Mild mediastinal shift towards right side. Mild crowding of right lower ribs.

A day later

ct

Complete collapse of right lower lobe. Mild mediastinal shift towards right side.

Intrapulmonary malposition of a left-sided chest drain.

Case Discussion

CXR demonstrates collapse of the right lower lobe, confirmed on CT of the chest obtained a day later.
